Simone Biles made history, winning the gold in the individual all-around final at the 2024 Paris Summer Games on Thursday to become just the third woman after Larisa Latynina in 1956 and 1960, and Věra Čáslavská in 1964 and 1968 to win the women's individual all-around twice.

Biles started strong with a massive 15.766 on vault, but made a mistake on uneven bars that briefly put her in second place behind Andrade. Biles then bounced back on beam and put up a massive performance on floor to win her second all-around gold medal.
Andrade was solid in every event, putting up particularly high scores on vault and floor to propel her to her second-straight all-around Olympic silver after taking silver in Tokyo.
Lee, meanwhile, had decent scores on vault and beam, but put up huge routines on bars — leading the field with 14.866 — and floor to secure an Olympic all-around medal for the second-straight Olympics. Lee, who overcame kidney issues in the gap between games to appear in Paris, is the first former gold medalist to make it back to the podium since Nadia Comaneci in 1980.
Biles, the 2016 all-around Olympic gold medalist, becomes the first woman to win non-consecutive Olympic gold medals in the event.

Biles's gold medal breaks another record, as her sixth Olympic gold medal gives her the most for any American gymnast. And she still has a chance to earn more, with apparatus finals in vault, beam and floor this weekend, with a particular chance for gold on vault and floor.

She's done it! Simone Biles has an explosive routine on floor to move into the lead and recapture the gold medal in the all-around. She only needed a 13.867 to pass Andrade, and she posts a 15.066. The GOAT stays the greatest.

Incredible work from Biles. There's little doubt now — she will be the all-around gold medalist.

Brazil's Rebeca Andrade nails a strong floor routine to move back into the lead
Andrade went slightly out of bounds on her first pass, but otherwise nails her routine to take 14.033 points and move back into first.
Biles is up next on floor as the all-around competition saves the best for last.

Kaylia Nemour of Algeria, who is currently in fourth place, has a few bobbles in her floor routine and appears to be out of medal contention. Still, it's been an incredible performance from the 17-year-old, who will still have a chance to compete for a medal in the uneven bar finals this weekend.

Simone Biles and Suni Lee have a chance to medal heading into the final rotation
Lee is currently tied for fourth place, and will go fourth in the rotation. A stellar routine here could give her enough of a boost to win bronze, but she will have to outcompete Italy's Alice D'Amato and Algeria's Kaylia Nemour.
Biles is going last on floor, and has a difficult advantage over her opponents by nearly a full point. Barring any major, major errors, Biles has an excellent chance to be on that podium.
Kari Anderson
Brazil's Rebeca Andrade finishes the rotation with a strong beam performance of her own, taking 14.133 points to stay in second place, behind Biles.
Andrade's best event, like Biles, is floor, which is coming up next; Andrade will compete second to last in the next rotation, with Biles anchoring the event.

Suni Lee performs well on beam
Suni Lee continues to vie for a place on the podium with a solid performance on beam. Lee had a couple of wobbles, and nearly under-rotated on the landing, but pulls out a score of 14.000. She will need a strong score on floor to contend for a medal.
Suni Lee closes her third rotation with a solid showing on balance beam. #ParisOlympics
